All you avo wanted!

Smash ’em, fry ’em, slice ’em, dice ’em … no matter how you eat ’em, avocados are a favorite for good reasons! Aside from being extra creamy and delicious, avocados are packed with good-for-you nutrients too!
  • Contains more potassium than a banana
  • More fiber in a single serving than any other fruit (Yes, it’s a fruit!)
  • High in antioxidants and vitamins C, E and K
  • May support healthy cholesterol levels due to its heart-healthy fat content

How to pick ’em:

Judging by the color alone won’t be much help here … you gotta feel them out! Avocados are ready to eat when they yield to slight pressure, so go ahead and give them a gentle squeeze to ensure they’re good to go! When squeezed, they shouldn’t be too firm or too soft … they should be just right!
Pro tips:
Be sure to pick avocados with their tiny wooden knot still attached to the top, as this will ensure that the avocado hasn’t oxidized on the inside yet. If you bring home an avocado that’s not quite ripe, place it in a paper bag to speed up the process. Or, if they’re getting too ripe before you’re ready to use, place them in the refrigerator to preserve!

Avocados From Mexico™

Creamy, delicious avocados have been imported for U.S. consumption since 1997! Since then, their popularity has swept the nation for everyone to enjoy, whether it’s in guacamole for the big game, or smashed for heart-healthy avocado toast. When you pick up a Hass avocado from the Avocados From Mexico brand, you can enjoy it with confidence knowing they’re always fresh and always in season, 365 days a year. The warm, coastal climate and rich Michoacán soil nourishes over 30,000 avocado orchards each year, supplying over 1.7 billion pounds of avocados!

Growing a perfect avocado

Avocado growers in Mexico have perfected their technique over the years. They take the best of both worlds from the avocado tree, the branches and the roots, and combine them to craft their very own, hand-made plant to grow a delicious Hass avocado. Each new tree takes about three to five years to produce fruit, but they are more than worth the wait! Once they’re ready to be picked, avocados are harvested with a pole and carefully inspected from the shine of their skin to the texture and color, ensuring only the best arrive at your table.
