Boar’s Head Meats

(expansion from July 26 recall post including all impacted SKUs)Boar’s Head has issued a recall of some of its products due to a potential Listeria monocytogenes outbreak. If you have purchased any of these deli meats at Sprouts deli service counters, please do not consume them. Sprouts has removed these products from its stores.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

Marco Ice Cream

Marco Sweets & Spices, out of an abundance of caution, has initiated a voluntary recall of all batches of ice creams and ice cream sandwiches for all flavors and containers due to a voluntary recall initiated by its co-manufacturer, Totally Cool, Inc.Totally Cool initiated a recall of all products produced at its facility based on the presence of Listeria monocytogenes on its ice cream cake line, detected during a routine FDA inspection. They have ceased production and distribution of all products. No confirmed illness have been reported at this time from consumption of any products made at Totally Cool.

Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

Raw Farm Cheddar Cheese
February 16, 2024
Raw Farm has initiated a Class I recall of Raw Farm Cheddar Cheese due to potential contamination with E. coli. This affects ALL lots and “Best By” dates of these products.E. coli symptoms begin anywhere from a few days after consuming contaminated food or up to nine days later. Symptoms include severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, fever, nausea, and/or vomiting. The severity or presence of certain symptoms may depend on the type of pathogenic E. coli causing the infection. Some infections can cause severe bloody diarrhea and lead to life-threatening conditions, such as a type of kidney failure called hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), or the development of high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease, and neurologic problems.
Consumers who purchased RAW FARM-brand Raw Cheddar cheese, including wholesale products, should carefully clean and sanitize any surfaces or containers that it touched.

There have been no illnesses reported to date. In the interest of customer safety, we have proactively removed these items from our stores.

Chicken Street Taco Meal Kit

Rizo-López Foods and Fresh Creations Foods, along with the FDA, have issued a recall of all Chicken Street Taco Meal Kit Units due to the potential contamination of Listeria monocytogenes. The select meals and kits include crema cup which contain a recalled cheese ingredient. Product was sold in Sprouts stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.The affected product lots of the following product:

No illnesses have been reported to date.The FDA and CDC, in collaboration with state and local partners, are investigating illnesses in a multi-year, multistate outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes infections linked to queso fresco and cotija cheeses manufactured by Rizo-López Foods. Customers who have purchased these items are urged not to consume these products and to dispose of them or return the items to their local store for a full refund. The FDA recommends in these cases that anyone who purchased or received any recalled products to use extra vigilance in cleaning and sanitizing any surfaces and containers that may have come in contact with these products to reduce the risk of cross-contamination. Listeria monocytogenes can survive in refrigerated temperatures and can easily spread to other foods and surfaces.
Customers who have purchased affected product are urged to discard the meal kit or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

HMC Farms has issued a voluntary recall. We have been notified that whole peaches, plums, and nectarines have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria. Any customers who may have bought these items on or around the last shipment of 10/28 should dispose of them.
