Shaving BalmWhat better way to say “I love you,” than with a handmade gift? Pamper your pop with this simple DIY cologne balm, dress it up with a meaningful tag and watch him light up.

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup Shea butter
  • 1/4 cup Virgin coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup Jojoba or sweet almond oil
  • 10 drops Rosemary essential oil
  • 3–5 drops Peppermint essential oil

Instructions:

  1. Place a small sauce pan over low heat and mix shea butter and coconut oil, stirring until melted. Transfer mixture to a heat-resistant bowl and add in jojoba oil (or almond oil), then the essential oils and stir.
  2. Chill mixture in refrigerator until solid. Once solid, remove from the refrigerator and whip mixture using a beater. Mix until light and fluffy. Store in an airtight container for up to one month.
Note: This shaving lotion is soap-free and will not create a lather, but rather a protective barrier between the razor and skin. Swish razor in water between strokes and enjoy!

Cedarwood Cologne Balm What better way to say “I love you,” than with a handmade gift? Pamper your pop with this simple DIY cologne balm, dress it up with a meaningful tag and watch him light up.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. Aura Cacia Apricot Kernel Oil
  • 1 1/2 oz. Aura Cacia Cocoa Butter
  • 15 drops Aura Cacia Texas Cedarwood Essential Oil
  • 15 drops Aura Cacia Pine Essential Oil
  • 6 drops Aura Cacia Rosemary Essential Oil
  • 4 oz. Aura Cacia amber glass wide mouth jar

Instructions:

  1. In a double boiler, melt apricot kernel oil and cocoa butter.
  2. Remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes.
  3. Add essential oils and pour into jar. Allow the mixture to solidify before use.
  4. To use, rub balm onto neck and hands.

Quick Tips:

  • To speed up solidification, refrigerate the balm.
  • This blend also works well as an aftershave balm.
Substitution: To increase the aroma’s sweetness, substitute Aura Cacia Bergamot Essential Oil for the rosemary.
