What is the temporary pre-order authorization hold on my card?


A temporary pre-authorization hold for the cost of your item(s), rounded to the nearest dollar, will be placed on your account until the transaction is completed on your selected pickup date to ensure payment is available in your account upon pick up. The pre-authorization will be renewed by your bank every seven days. If an authorization hold cannot be renewed, your order will be systematically canceled. The temporary hold on your card will be released on your pickup date and you will only be charged for the cost of your pre-order at the end of that day.

How do I cancel or update my order?


Holiday pre-orders cannot be changed once the order is placed. To choose a different item, please cancel your order and begin a new order. Please note, reorders are subject to product availability. You may cancel your holiday pre-orders online for a full refund with no additional fees up until two days before the scheduled in-store pickup. To cancel your order, view your order within purchase history and click the “Cancel Order” button. To change or cancel your order within two days before your designated pickup date, please contact your selected pickup store. Pre-orders are subject to Sprouts cancellation policy.

Do you accept SNAP benefits via EBT Card for Pickup & Delivery orders?


Yes, Sprouts customers can pay for online orders with a valid EBT card. Sprouts currently does not accept EBT Cash for online orders. By associating your EBT card to your Sprouts account, you confirm that your card information is current and valid. To successfully use your EBT card, a credit or debit card must also be linked to your Sprouts account to cover fees, bottle deposits in some states, taxes, delivery tips, and any other non-EBT SNAP-eligible items you may want to purchase.

To add an EBT card to your account on shop.sprouts.com or in the Sprouts app:
  1. Click or tap My Profile
  2. Select EBT SNAP from the Profile menu
  3. Choose Add EBT card
  4. Enter the first name, last name, and card number on the EBT card.
  5. Click or tap Save
Only one EBT card can be saved to your profile. To add a different EBT card, remove the first one. To remove an EBT card from your account on shop.sprouts.com or on the Sprouts app:
  1. Click or tap My Profile
  2. Select EBT SNAP from the Profile menu
  3. Select Remove
  4. Click Remove Card to confirm
  5. Follow the steps above to add the new EBT card to your account

To add a credit or debit card on shop.sprouts.com or in the app this happens when you check out with your final order. When on the checkout page:
  1. Select Payment Method
  2. Under Add new payment method select Debit / Credit or PayPal
  3. Enter the card information
  4. Click or tap Save

How do I shop for EBT SNAP-eligible items?


To see which items are EBT SNAP eligible, you must first add an EBT SNAP card to your account. From there, you can add a filter to the search feature by selecting the “EBT Eligible” button at the top of the search page. If you are browsing items from the Store Homepage, each item will display “EBT” next to the price when you select a specific item. To confirm which items are EBT SNAP-eligible in your mini-cart prior to checkout, look for the “EBT” callout under each item name.

How do I check out with my EBT card?


To check out, visit your cart and tap or click “Checkout” where you will first be prompted to complete the delivery address and payment information section.
  1. Enter your address and credit or debit card information.
  2. Confirm your EBT card information.
  3. Click or tap “Edit” to change the amount that will apply to your EBT card.
  4. Click “Confirm payment method.”
  5. Confirm all information is correct.
  6. Click “Place Order.”
  7. After placing your order, you will be prompted to enter your EBT card pin to verify your purchase.
You’ll notice there is a payment breakdown on the Place Order section but what will be charged to your EBT card and what will be charged to your credit or debit card. Note: All delivery and service fees, bottle deposit fees in some states, taxes, tips, and any items that are not EBT SNAP-eligible will be charged to your credit or debit card. When reviewing your payment methods and EBT card at checkout, you’ll notice a by-weight items message under EBT card. When purchasing an item by weight, such as meat or produce, your shopper may need to adjust the weight causing the item to be slightly heavier due to in-store availability. If this happens, your EBT SNAP card will be charged for the first 10% of the extra cost and your credit/debit card will be charged for the remainder.
