Make spring days a little sweeter when you peel open a bright, juicy citrus that fills the room with a refreshing scent. With a variety of different citrus, you’re sure to find your zest one yet!
Juicing Made Easy
Get ready to boost your immune system naturally!
Wondering how to get those recommended five servings of fruits and vegetables into your daily diet? Juicing may be the answer! When you juice fruits and vegetables, you typically have to use more of the produce: Instead of eating one stalk of celery, you’re juicing several stalks of celery, which means you get more of the phytochemicals and micronutrients that make juicing so beneficial.Keep in mind…
One drawback to juicing is that the process removes the fiber that can help you feel fuller longer and helps keep digestion in check. When you start juicing for the first time, keep it low on sugar! Strive for a healthy mix of mostly veggies with a bit of fruit for a sweet variety of nutritional benefits. A four-ounce serving of fruit juice is equivalent to a whole serving of fruit. So add in all the greens you like with a bit of fruit for a balanced refreshment full of goodness.Power up with nutritious add-ins
Another great way to boost flavor and nutrition without excess sugar is to find simple add-ins. Try a little earthy turmeric root for its curcuminoids that lend powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties to your drink. Ginger will add a spicy zip to your sip and promote better digestion. A dash of cinnamon adds great flavor and is high in antioxidants.Sip on these scrumptious juice blends!

These hauntingly good toast recipes are easy-peasy and don’t require many tricks, just treats! Plus, each one can be crafted with gluten-free and vegan-friendly ingredients. Thanks to our friend Elaine, at EatingbyElaine.comfor providing these fang-tastic bites.Grilled Cheese Ghosts
Ingredients:
- 2 slices Whole wheat or gluten-free bread
- Vegan butter, for grilling
- Shredded vegan mozzarella cheese
- Black olives, for decor
- Cut a ghost shape out of one slice of bread. Cut one side of the full slide and just one side of the slice with the cutout ghost in the center (the edges around the ghost). Save the cut-out ghost for the below recipe.
- For the full slice of bread with no cutout, place butter-side down on skillet over medium heat. Do the same with the slice of bread with the ghost cutout in the middle. You will end up putting these two slices together in a moment.
- Spread mozzarella cheese overtop only the full slice of bread in one even layer as the other side of the slice sears.
- Place the leftover bread (with the ghost cutout in the middle) overtop the full slice of bread with no cutout. Make sure the butter side/seared side is facing up. Allow the grilled cheese ghost sandwich to continue to cook another minute or two to allow the cheese to melt into the top slice and help hold the sandwich together. Take the grilled cheese off the burner and decorate with black olive slices to make a ghost face if desired.
- For the actual ghost cutout, you can save this for the recipe below. Or, you can spread the mozzarella cheese over top of the ghost cut out too. You can place this piece in a toaster oven at 400°F to cook it and melt the cheese until golden brown. Then decorate it with black olives for the ghost face too.

Easy Avocado Recipes
All you avo wanted!
Smash ’em, fry ’em, slice ’em, dice ’em … no matter how you eat ’em, avocados are a favorite for good reasons! Aside from being extra creamy and delicious, avocados are packed with good-for-you nutrients too!- Contains more potassium than a banana
- More fiber in a single serving than any other fruit (Yes, it’s a fruit!)
- High in antioxidants and vitamins C, E and K
- May support healthy cholesterol levels due to its heart-healthy fat content
How to pick ’em:
Judging by the color alone won’t be much help here … you gotta feel them out! Avocados are ready to eat when they yield to slight pressure, so go ahead and give them a gentle squeeze to ensure they’re good to go! When squeezed, they shouldn’t be too firm or too soft … they should be just right!Pro tips: Be sure to pick avocados with their tiny wooden knot still attached to the top, as this will ensure that the avocado hasn’t oxidized on the inside yet. If you bring home an avocado that’s not quite ripe, place it in a paper bag to speed up the process. Or, if they’re getting too ripe before you’re ready to use, place them in the refrigerator to preserve!
Avocados From Mexico™
Creamy, delicious avocados have been imported for U.S. consumption since 1997! Since then, their popularity has swept the nation for everyone to enjoy, whether it’s in guacamole for the big game, or smashed for heart-healthy avocado toast. When you pick up a Hass avocado from the Avocados From Mexico brand, you can enjoy it with confidence knowing they’re always fresh and always in season, 365 days a year. The warm, coastal climate and rich Michoacán soil nourishes over 30,000 avocado orchards each year, supplying over 1.7 billion pounds of avocados!Growing a perfect avocado
Avocado growers in Mexico have perfected their technique over the years. They take the best of both worlds from the avocado tree, the branches and the roots, and combine them to craft their very own, hand-made plant to grow a delicious Hass avocado. Each new tree takes about three to five years to produce fruit, but they are more than worth the wait! Once they’re ready to be picked, avocados are harvested with a pole and carefully inspected from the shine of their skin to the texture and color, ensuring only the best arrive at your table.Get your guac on with these fresh recipes!
