Cottle Farms

Cottle Farms is a family-owned farm who has been growing the freshest berries, grapes and vegetables in Faison, North Carolina since 1964! Ned A. Cottle is a third-generation farmer who planted his first crop of strawberries after seeing a demand for U-Pick berries in both consumers and retailers. While California farms were heavily concentrated in commercial sales, establishing the U-Pick model helped them stand out among the rapid growth of berry farms. Ned’s son, Ron, has helped him grow the business into the success that it is today to bring you and your family high-quality produce every season.

Cotton Hope Farms sits on the ridge of Monetta, South Carolina where the peaches are known for growing sweeter. Not only do the sloping lands provide ample amounts of water, but the sandy soils and Piedmont clay of the Coastal Plains create the best fertility for sweet, juicy peaches. The DuBose family and Cotton Hope Farms prides itself on delivering high-quality peaches straight from their backyard to yours!

Mcleod Farms

Family-owned and operated for over 100 years, Mcleod Farms is proud to bring South Carolina grown peaches to you and your family, each season! During the peak harvesting months of late May through August, peaches are picked and hand-graded every day. McLeod Farms uses a variety of modern farming practices like drip irrigation and wind machines to help bring warmer temperatures down to the crops on the colder days. While peaches are their specialty, this local farm also grows berries, potatoes, cabbage, sweet corn, onions, peppers and other tasty produce.

Hirakata Farms is a fifth generation owned family farm located in Rocky Ford, Colorado. In the early 1900’s, Tatsunosuke Hirakata came to the United States from Japan, eventually settling in Colorado, where he and his son began farming and building what is now Hirakata Farms! Located in Greeley Colorado, this family-owned farm began in 1908, when Emily Hungenberg bought 7-acres of land with her three sons after the passing of her husband in 1904. Sprouts Extraordinaire proudly grows fresh, vitamin-packed bean sprouts locally in Denver, Colorado! Their natural and organic sprouts are uniquely grown year-round by utilizing a hydroponic growing process that uses fresh water from the Rockey Mountains. Hydroponics uses as little as 1/20th of the water that standard farming practices would use to produce the same amount of produce. BBI Produce was founded in 1990 and grows the freshest berries and melons in Dover, Florida! They are family owned and operated by two families, the Brown’s and the Young’s. Homemade Shaving Cream in a Jar

Moisturized and refreshed–that’s how the dads in your life will feel after receiving this nourishing, homemade shaving cream! Using only a handful of ingredients, you can whip this gift up in a pinch for the perfect DIY Father’s Day gift!

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup Whipped cocoa or shea butter
  • 1/4 cup Avocado oil
  • 1/4 cup Coconut oil
  • 1 Tbsp. Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. Vitamin E
  • 3-5 drops Essential oil of choice (optional)

How to:

In a pot over low heat, melt the cocoa or shea butter along with the avocado and coconut oils. Once everything is melted, remove mixture from heat and whisk in the rest of the ingredients using an electric mixer until it starts to thicken and foam like shaving cream. Set in the fridge for a few minutes until it begins to harden and set. Transfer to a jar and decorate with labels or ribbon for easy gifting.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Almond oil
  • 1/2 stick Beeswax
  • 3, 1-inch Ginger root slice
  • 3-5 drops Peppermint essential oil
  • 3-5 drops Eucalyptus essential oil
  • 3-5 drops Cinnamon essential oil

How to:

Heat the almond oil in a small saucepan then add three, 1-inch slices of peeled ginger and set on low for 10 minutes. Remove the ginger and add in the beeswax until melted. Remove mixture from heat and add in 3-5 drops of each essential oil. Transfer to a glass container or tin and let cool. Once cooled, the mixture should be hardened and ready to use.
