Turmeric is back in a big way

We’re finding turmeric in teas, coffees and even our milk. Golden milk is a simple drinking elixir which uses turmeric as its baseline ingredient.

With its rich, slightly spicy flavor, smooth finish and anti-inflammatory properties, it’s a great early morning start or soothing night cap. Pour yourself a mug, it might just be worth its weight in gold.

Turmeric, ginger’s cousin, is a powerful root that has been used for centuries due to its medicinal properties. The rich color comes from curcumin, a bright-yellow chemical compound which may support much more than healthy joints. Once thought of as just a natural dye in makeup and clothing, this amazing spice has been added to a myriad of beverages and dishes, and is consumed daily in many cultures.

A simple sip

In a blender combine

• 2 cups Milk
• 1 tsp. Turmeric powder
• ½ tsp. Cinnamon powder
• ¼ tsp. Ginger powder
• 1 tsp. Maple syrup

Blend until combined, transfer to a medium saucepot and heat until just boiling. Enjoy this easy golden milk immediately.
